The History of CREW Austin
 CREW Austin was founded in 2002 with a simple philosophy: We work together; we play together. We promote each other; we support each other.
In 2001 more than 40 women in commercial real estate attended a luncheon to discuss how to support women active in the commercial real estate community. From that meeting, 25 women, who eventually became CREW Austin's Founding Members, met in January 2002 to start CREW Austin. The creation of our chapter is a perfect illustration of the purpose of CREW. The women present at that January meeting were well-known and highly regarded within their respective disciplines, but amazingly, were not all known to each other, which drove home the point of why a women's commercial real estate association was needed.
Today, our members represent a diverse and dynamic group from all areas of the commercial real estate industry. We work with each other in business deals, encourage each other through social events, and educate present and future industry leaders through community outreach.
History of CREW Network Founded in 1989, CREW Network is the industry's premier business networking organization dedicated to supporting the achievements of women in commercial real estate. Our 8,000 members represent nearly every discipline within the industry and are located in 74 major markets across North America.
CREW Network seeks to influence the success of the commercial real estate industry by focusing on fulfilling four key initiatives: business development, leadership development, industry research and career outreach.

2009 - CREW Careers with Ann Richards School for Girls
2008 - Austin CREW founding member, Jane Snoddy Smith elected as CREW National Chair Elect for 2009
2007 - CREW Careers with troop members from the Lone Star Girl Scout Council
2006 - National CREW delegates meeting in Austin, which was the most highly-attended Delegates Council meeting in CREW Network history
2005 - First Annual CREW Austin Diva Panel
2004 - First annual Golf Adventure
2003 - Introduction to the Austin Community
2002 - Interim Board created
2001 - Informal Luncheon held
