Member of Year Awards

CREW Austin, named Sarah Scott, director of business development at Burt-Watts as their 2011 Member of the Year and Cathleen Slack, principal at Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend, PC, the 2011 New Member of the Year.

"Sarah has been a high-energy, positive force for CREW Austin. She has led efforts to grow the organization and its core goals and purposes," said Rosalie Keszler, immediate past president, CREW Austin. "As a new member of CREW Cathleen exemplifies what we are hoping each member gleans from our organization when they begin, becoming leaders and advocates for women in the commercial real estate industry."

Scott has been in the commercial construction industry for more than 14 years, joining CREW Austin in 2008. Heavily engaged with the organization, Scott utilized 16 of her CREW connections for various projects Burt-Watts had underway last year and was just named secretary for the 2012 CREW Austin Board of Directors.

Slack joined CREW Austin in May 2010. She served as co-chair of the Membership Committee during 2010 and is the lead Chair of Membership for 2012. Slack has been recognized as the integral force behind a recent surge in CREW Austin's membership. At the end of 2011, membership was at an all-time high.

CREW Austin announced the member and new member of the year awards Tuesday, January 17th. The awards are for the 2011 membership year.
