The 5th annual 2011 CREW Careers is rapidly approaching and the Committees planning efforts are well underway. This year's event should provide an excellent educational experience and fun filled afternoon for the young ladies and future leaders of the Commercial Real Estate industry. The 2011 Committee Chairs are Carol Cates of Danly Properties & Shelly Rosales of Rosales Partners Real Estate Development (RED).

As many of you may recall, our past CREW Career programs have been a tremendous success, and this year will be no exception. Carol & Shelly are taking this year's event to the next level and capitalizing on our theme "Developing Austin". CREW Careers will be held at the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders on Friday, May 13th from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. This year the program will open the commercial real estate doors to 85 ninth (9th) grade girls who will be introduced to the most exciting family oriented new development that Central Texas has ever seen!

According to their web-site; "The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders is a unique all girls public school founded to educate young women and give them the confidence and skills necessary to succeed in college, in their careers and in their communities. The Ann Richards School is based on proven models - the Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem, New York, and the Irma Rangel Leadership School in Dallas, Texas. Established ten years ago, the Young Women's Leadership School educates girls from economically disadvantaged families, with 100 percent of graduates applying to and being accepted to college. The Ann Richards School's college preparatory program has the identical goal.

We need your help:
Volunteer - The 2011 Committee has completed a lot of the pre-planning efforts, but volunteers are needed for the actual day of the event, especially Team Leaders. The Team Leaders pair up and work directly with the girls, helping them thru each step of the development process. This is one of the most rewarding roles and spots are limited!

If you are able and interested in giving an afternoon of your time to a most worthwhile project, please contact Carol Cates, Shelly Rosales.

Donate - Each of the 85 students will receive a "goodie bag" filled with items that students can relate too or have fun with. Last year logoed items were donated and chic girly items such as lip stick and nail polish were purchased. If you can donate "goodie bags" items, please let either Carol or Shelly know.
